Sigiriya is an iconic and culturally significant destination in Sri Lanka. Our journey there will carefully encompass a selection of must-see attractions, each offering a unique glimpse into the island's diverse heritage and natural beauty. This route has been carefully curated to include some of the remarkable and historically rich sites, ensuring a deeply engaging and memorable experience.
Firstly we will visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a sanctuary for rescued elephants.
We will then continue to the Dambulla Cave Temples, a UNESCO heritage site. Here paintings and frescoes adorn the walls and ceilings and depict the great events in the life of the Buddha. There are many statues too, the largest of which is a 15 metre reclining Buddha.
The day culminates with a hike up Piduruangala Rock where the summit offers a breath taking view of the sunset with the iconic Sigiriya Rock standing majestically in view.

Early morning sunrise is optional but is recommended. Climbing this ancient rock fortress provides a panoramic view of the surrounding landscapes and an insight into the stories and history of Sri Lanka.
After this, proceed to the royal city of Kandy, stopping at a spice garden to learn about Sri Lanka's famous spices, essential ingredients in the national cuisine and Ayurvedic medicine.
In the afternoon we can take a tour of the bustling Kandy vegetable market, visit the Temple of the Tooth for evening puja, or stroll around the lake or visit the Peredeniya gardens. Be sure to try the local street food in Kandy city.
After the tour of the city check in to your Kandy hotel to relax and unwind. Stay 1 night.
After an enjoyable breakfast our journey continues to Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as "Little England" due to its colonial architecture and cool climate. This charming town is nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country, surrounded by always lush, green hills and tea plantations. The drive up to Nuwara Eliya is a visual treat, with scenic views of rolling hills, Ambuluwawa Tower, waterfalls and tea pickers at work in the tea fields. We can stop along the way so you can make the most of this amazing journey. The Ramboda Waterfall is a natural, stunning spectacle and provides a moment of tranquility amidst nature.
From Nuwara Eliya the scenic train ride to Ella is known for its breath taking views and is a highlight of Sri Lankan travel.
You will be reunited with your driver and vehicle at the Ella station and taken to your hotel where you can unwind.

After breakfast take in some of the highlights of Ella: Little Adam's Peak, the Nine Arch Bridge, Ravana Falls - another testament of Sri Lanka's beauty. The Ravana zipline is an exhilarating experience for the adventurous.
After this we leave the hill country and go down to the coast via the expressway to Mirissa Beach where you can enjoy marine nature of dolphin and whale watching, spot the turtles and go snorkeling and surfing. This beautiful beach has safe spots for swimming and a beach restaurant scene.
